Wenshi
| Born in Beijing, China, Wenshi is an
internationally recognized artist who currently resides in the
United States. He studied at the prestigious Beijing Academy of the
Arts and began painting professionally at an early age. His style is impressionistic with a heavy use of the palette knife. He applies the paint to the canvas in a dramatic and an almost three-dimensional manner. His use of color is warm and vibrant. His favorite subject is the landscape and he most often portrays it in a large scale format, usually 24” x 36” or larger. His smaller landscapes are a rarity. Throughout his travels, he claims Tuscany to be one of his primary sources of inspiration. Wenshi’s still life paintings are filled with energy and simplicity at the same time. He captures the essence of a flower with a few swift strokes. His subjects also include seascapes and interior scenes. |
