Heather Jordan is an expressionist painter who loves vibrant color.  Her creative use of the palette knife gives her oil paintings a rich texture and adds to the excitement of each work.

Born in Wakefield, Rhode Island, she moved to Charleston with her family at age 7.  It was there that the pluff mud, thick creek air and colorful summers ingrained the subject matter that she loves to paint.  "I can't tell you how many crabs, fish, shrimp and oysters I have had in my hands.  And I still have my original casting net."   Her personal involvement in creek life has given her first-hand knowledge of the details of her subject matter.  "Did you know that the inside of an oyster shell has a small purple part where attached and that a female crab's claws differ in color from the male's claws?"

Heather is a self-taught and dedicated artist.  She holds a degree in Pre-Engineering with an emphasis on Architecture.  However, her innate sense of balance, style,  and color blossomed into a desire to pursue the fine arts while in her 30's.   She has been painting full-time for the last 6 years and  frequently takes classes to enhance her skills.

Her work has been delivered to some of the finest resort locations in the United Sates, residential homes and corporate environments and has graced the cover of "She" magazine in 2006 and 2008.  Heather's intention as an artist is to give a homeowner a large conversation piece, a work that shares conversations and smiles.  Color is very important to her and she has a decorating sense that influences her painting. "Nothing is better that a well decorated room that has a connection to artwork."
